The Textile Designing course at NIDA gives students a chance to cultivate creativity, while acquiring specialist skills in a stimulating environment. Harnessing our traditional art form of textile, NIDA aims to offer a solid academic grounding to put work into context-gaining professional skills that will really appeal to employers.
Core modules will introduce the principles of design, followed by an exploration to fundamental aspects of textile design. Gain insight into the historical and cultural contexts of the field of design, and textile design in particular. Discover your prowess in structured textiles, including knitted, woven, stitched and manipulated textiles, or digital textiles, where you'll explore surface pattern for textiles, wall coverings and other surfaces. In each pathway you'll have the opportunity to work on designs for fashion or interiors.
